In January 2014, the New York Bankers Association endorsed Gremlin Social as the recommended social media marketing, management and compliance platform for all member financial institutions. Gremlin Social was also the endorsed and preferred solution of the Missouri Bankers Association.
In October 2015, Gremlin Social was endorsed by the American Bankers Association (ABA) – through its subsidiary the Corporation for American Banking, as the official platform for social media marketing, monitoring, and compliance for all U.S. member banks.
Hal Gentry, Chief Executive Officer
Hal has nearly 30 years of experience in the software industry as a CEO and entrepreneur. He has founded and sold two successful software businesses, GridLogix and Gentry Systems, to publicly traded companies, Autodesk and Johnson Controls.
Hal is a past General Partner at Capital Innovators and SixThirty FinTech Accelerator, which fund and mentor startup tech companies. He is currently a General Partner at Prosper Women’s Accelerator. He is a member of ArchAngels, one of the most active angel groups in the country.
Hal serves on the Board of Directors for aisle411 and ITEN and on Advisory Board for PixelPress and Trackbill. In addition, he is a Limited Partner and on the investment committee for Cultivation Capital, one of the leading Venture Capital firms in the Midwest.
Hal earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) where he now serves on the advisory board for the School of Engineering and Computer Science Department. He is a member of the Alumni Hall of Fame.
Ryan Bell, Founder & Chief Product Officer
Founder Ryan Bell released the company’s first social media management software in 2008, a Twitter scheduling and management client called Twaitter. The success of Twaitter led Bell to design Gremlin Social as a multiple network management tool. In April 2014, Gremlin Social was chosen to participate in one of the nation’s leading business accelerators for financial services technology, St. Louis-based SixThirty. Gremlin Social secured additional investment from St. Louis-based Cultivation Capital. Other investors include Capital Innovators, Missouri Technology Corporation, a public-private partnership, iSelect Funds and other private investors.
Jean Roberson, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Jean Roberson is focused on improving the operational cost efficiencies of Gremlin Social, including investor relations, budgeting and financial modeling. Under her guidance, the company has increased revenue 113% over three quarters.
Roberson began her career as an auditor at Ernst& Young, joining the firm after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and becoming a C.P.A. Jean has a passion for mentoring early-stage companies and founded the Technology Entrepreneur Center to provide guidance to early-stage companies in St. Louis. Jean’s energy and passion serve her well as an avid triathlete, participating in races across the country.
